Candlelight Vigils 
On January 22, 1973, with a 7-to-2 majority vote, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a decision that abortion is a
fundamental right under the United States Constitution.. Since this 1973 decision over 50 million babies have died due to abortion. . The Candlelight Vigil is an observance of the anniversary of the Roe Vs. Wade Supreme Court Decision. . Twenty-seven years ago the Christian Action Council Education and Ministries Fund, which is today known as Care Net, asked President Ronald Reagan to create a special day to focus on the intrinsic value of human life and the fundamental right to life, as recognized by the American Founding Fathers. . In 1983, President Reagan issued a proclamation establishing a National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS). Since 1983, the SOHLS proclamation has also been issued by Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. .  . Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church for volunteering to host this year's 2012 Candlelight Vigil. The Candlelight Vigil was on Sunday, January 22nd. .

Tens of millions of Your children have been killed thanks to the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion. . Father, have mercy on us. Heal our land and accept our offering of prayer and penance. In Your love for us, turn back the scourge of abortion. . May each of us exult in hearts full of hope and hands full of mercy and work together to build a culture of life. We pray through Christ our Lord. AMEN! .
